What and Why?
The National Change of Address (NCOA) Database is maintained by the post office for when people, families or companies move. The address forward requests filed by customers when moving are maintained in a “Global” database by the post office.
When one sends out bulk mail, whether it is first class or standard, the post office requires that the mailing lists be matched to the NCOA database to update any addressees that may have moved. The process saves the post office time and money, and is a requirement for eligibility for presorted rates.
For more information regarding NCOA, please visit the post office’s website at: NCOA Website
